Holyrood is the palace of the English monarchy in Scotland. It is built on the top of an ancient extinct volcano (see first photo below). As in most palaces, we were not permitted to photograph the interior. Here are some good photos of it's exterior, including the ruins of it's own chapel wing.

The second photo below (center window), is the room of a horrible and historic murder - many years ago.
