Policies

Foremost - Honesty and Fairness

All Sellers on The Collector's Market must act in an honest and forthright manner with the customer, and with the owner of this website.

The owner of this website promises the same honest and forthright manner to each customer, and each store owner.

Creating a Consignment Relationship

Collectors who wish to have a store on The Collector's Market need to have a minimum of 10 items. These items need to be in the form of a collection or theme.

All applicants will please contact Mike Zitaglio with their request.

Each consignment request will be evaluated by the owner of The Collector's Market, and the request may or may not be accepted - based on his sole discretion.

If accepted, it will be the store owner's responsibility to gather all information, pricing, and individual photos. This information is to be sent to Mike Zitaglio. All information becomes the property of The Collector's Market.

There is currently no fee or startup costs to have your own store on The Collector's Market.

The Collector's Market will set up a store identity for the Seller. An individual email address will be created, and the Seller agrees to only use this zitaglio.com email address in all correspondences involving their online store on The Collector's Market.

All items will remain with the Seller, until such time as the item is sold. Items will be shipped from the Seller, directly to the Buyer.

Once payment has been received from the Buyer, and the Buyer has accepted delivery, a consignment fee of 10% (based on final sale price alone) is immediately due to the owner of The Collector's Market. This fee is the responsibility of the store owner to pay.

The payment must be posted to the following address within three days of the finished transaction. All payments are to be remitted, and made payable to:

Dissolving a Consignment Relationship

The owner of this website may at his discretion, end a consignment relationship. This would be accomplished by giving the store owner simple written notice. Simple written notice may be made by email, or by letter. All store listings would be removed. The owner of this website would have no further obligations to the former store owner.

A store owner may end a consignment relationship. This would also be accomplished by giving The Collector's Market simple written notice. Simple written notice may be made by email, or by letter. Any outstanding consignment fees would still be due to The Collector's Market. All store listings would be removed.

Rights and Obligations of the Store Owners

Those who have approved consignment space, have the right to add or withdraw items for sale. Adding items will need the prior approval of The Collector's Market.

Store owners have the right to end the relationship with no further commitment, other than any outstanding consignment fees.

Store owners are responsible to pay any consignment fees that extenuate beyond any severance notice, on pending sales. This is as long as the sale was first initiated during their time as a store owner, on The Collector's Market.

Store owners remain in full possession of their inventory. They may sell items that are listed on their web store, in private transactions. They would then give The Collector's Market adequate notice to remove the item from their web store inventory.

However - if a sale should result because of the web store - whether it is through visual acknowledgement, advertising, search engine result, or email communications based or initialized from The Collector's Market - a consignment fee would be considered due at the time of a finalized transaction.

A finalized transaction would be one, in which the Seller accepts payment and the item sold is successfully delivered to the Buyer.

It is the obligation of the store owner to act in good faith, accurately and honestly keep track of items sold through the web store - and pay any fees due, in a timely manner.

The Collector's Market's Rights and Responsibilities

The Collector's Market will act as a provider of internet based consignment space, and as a customer service representative.

We are not agents to the Buyer, or to the Seller. We offer web services, and informational help.

Our goal is to see that all dealings are fair and equitable to both the Seller and Buyer.

Sellers will be dealing directly with the Buyers, and Buyers directly with the Sellers.

The Collector's Market will not be held liable for any damages arising from the transactions between the Buyer and the Seller.

The Collector's Market will set policy to protect both the Buyer and Seller, and expect that all parties - by their participation on this website - have reviewed and agreed to abide by these policies.

Shipping Policy

The Seller is to take added care in packaging each item for shipment. In many cases, double boxing may be necessary. Also the cushioning effect of foam, bubble wrap, and other packing materials is highly recommended.

Unless otherwise specifically stated in the sales listing page of the item, the responsibility of shipping will be an added cost - due from the Buyer, above that of the purchase price of any item.

While it is understood that the Seller and the Buyer will consider each other's needs. It is ultimately the decision of the Seller, as to which shipping method that will be used.

Delivery confirmation, although very affordable - will be left to the discretion of the Seller, as to add to the cost of delivery. Delivery confirmation is more of an advantage to the Seller, and as such may be paid by the Seller - to verify acceptance of the package.

Contents Insurance, in the amount of the actual final sales price (at the very least) - must be taken on each package sent. Packages with multiple items will have the combined insurance value of the items contained.

Contents Insurance will be paid by the Buyer, unless the Seller agrees otherwise.

Contents Insurance is mandatory for all items shipped from a sale that occurs on The Collector's Market.

The only exception would be if the Buyer, in writing, waves the Contents Insurance - and acknowledges and accepts that the delivery will be accepted 'as is'.

In such an event, should damage occur - the Buyer had actively and knowingly relinquished any recourse to obtain recompense from the Seller - by having given the Seller a written Contents Insurance waiver.

Shipping Damage Policy

The Collector's Market is not responsible for items shipped, since items are shipped from the Seller, directly to the Buyer. Compensation from loss or damage is not the responsibility or the obligation of The Collector's Market.

Should damage occur, it will be the Seller's responsibility to pursue the collection of the insurance.

The Buyer will be obligated to send the damaged item back to the Seller - along with the initial shipping container (with packing) that was used. It would also be very helpful for the Buyer to email to the Seller any digital photos that could be taken of the package, as it arrived - and the breakage to any of the items within. This would start the claim process promptly.

Once the Seller has received the damaged item, and it's initial packaging - they will promptly refund to the Buyer the initial cost paid, all initial shipping charges, and the Buyer's added cost to ship the damaged item back to them.

This payment will be made to the Buyer promptly, and not be dependent on the time needed for the insurance collection process.

The collection of the insurance is the only recourse left for the Seller, and it success is left solely between the Seller and the chosen shipping agent.

No consignment fees are due in the case of shipping damage, and subsequent insurance claims.

Return Policy

Unless specifically stated otherwise - All sales are final.
